Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. He was naturally interested in cooking because his family members were involved in the food & hospitality industry for a long time in Tokyo. After he trained at the TSUJI culinary school, he had several positions in Tokyo, Banff (AB), Canmore (AB) and Kelowna (BC). He opened SOY Asian Fusion with his wife Tomo on February 2011 located at 2900 Pandosy St. Kelowna, BC.

Born in Yamagata, Japan. She moved to Canada with Takeshi in 2001. That was a big challenge, but it was very fun and exciting. She is always enjoying adjusting to her new challenges that come with operating the SOY Asian Fusion. Tomo loves cooking, eating and drinking!
